COVID-19 ELECTION ADVISORY: Due to enhanced COVID-19 safety precautions and historically high advance voting numbers, election returns may be slightly delayed on the evening of the primary election (August 4).

By 5:00pm on each of the three consecutive days following the August 4 primary election, the Office of Secretary of State will publish updated election results via media advisories and on its website - sos.ks.gov. County election offices will provide the Office of Secretary of State with updated unofficial results to account for advance by mail ballots postmarked on or before election day.

Election results are considered unofficial until local and state election boards of canvassers certify the election after all ballots have been counted – including provisional ballots and advance by mail ballots postmarked on or before election day and received in their local election office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020.
